VegasPigpets is an all volunteer 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization that specializes in working with and educating pig owners of the specialized requirements potbelly pigs need to live long, happy lives.
We also place and help find homes for unwanted, abandoned and abused potbelly pigs.  We are not a sanctuary and are at capacity right now but please see our "Surrender Page" and let us know ahead of time as we may not be able to house your pig for placement but can network and help you list your pig for future placement.

The #1 Reason People Give up their Pigs:
Did you know an unspayed female pig goes into heat
every 21 days?
Did you ever smell an unneutered boar? Do you think dogs humping everything is unacceptable behavior?  Pigs are 10x worse!

No pig makes a good pet if not spayed/neutered!

You cannot own an unfixed potbelly here without a permit!
And, if you see a piglet for sale is under 8 lbs, do NOT buy it!  It's too young and yes, it's also now illegal for anyone to sell a piglet under 8 lbs!
Please See our Veterinarian Page for specialists who can help you!
The following video is of Tank (the terror), he was not even 6 months yet, dumped off at a shelter just because of this non-stop aggression and hormonal behavior! If you fix your potbelly piglet as young as 6 weeks for males, 8 weeks for females, you will never have this problem!  They not only make a better pet, it will be more than half the price!  We can eliminate the need for so many unwanted pigs if owners and breeders would just fix their pigs when they are piglets!
Prevent an Unwanted Litter... Spay/Neuter your Critter!

And before you just turn your pig into a shelter, please read this...

Did you know a Potbelly Pig has the intelligence of a 3 year old?

The #2 Most Given Reason People Give up their Pigs:
In considering a pig as a pet, ask yourself, is there such a thing as a "miniature pig" or a "teacup pig"?  So many pigpet owners buy a piglet on the "promise" the little baby will grow up to be a teacup mini lap pig. How do you keep a pig small?
The same way you keep a anything small!  STARVE IT!
Would you starve your child? If not, please don't buy a pig for it's size!

Are you prepared to commit to the specialized needs of a potbelly pig for the next 20 years?

The #3 Most Given Reason People Give up their Pigs:
And the most important question to ask before you get a pig...
Is your home ZONED to keep a potbelly pigpet?
Click the "ZONED" link above to check out your city/county zoning for Southern NV!
(Yes, Potbelly Pigs were just added to the City of Henderson in low residential areas!)

(Also, check with your HOA as most DO NOT allow any Pig as a Pet!)

Because of various circumstances, owners
are unable to keep their  pig.  Before you buy a baby piglet, consider adopting a pigpet.  There are so many great reasons to adopt!  At the top of the list is that you can give a pig a second chance at a forever home.  Vegaspigpets' mission is to place each pig with a suitable owner that will love and care for them as much as they give in return! And yes, they can live about 20 years, so please also consider the time commitment!
Please see our "
Digs Needed" Page for wonderful pigs that need homes now!

How many animals were euthanized last year where you live?
Don't Breed or Buy when Shelter Animals have to Die!
Prevent a Litter... Spay & Neuter your Critter!
VegasPigPets is a 501(c)(3) Federal Non-Profit Organization and all donations are tax-deductible under the full extent of the law. We are a 100% volunteer organization and 100% of your donations goes directly to the immediate rescue, placement, vet care including spay/neuter of potbelly pigpets in immediate need!  Your donations are greatly needed and appreciated in helping all pigpets that cannot help themselves!  Every penny counts for a piggy and if One Million people could spare just One Dollar for a Piggy, a Million Dollars could save so many more PigPets we just can't save now!  Can you spare some change for a pig in need?  Every donation counts!

If you would like to see more potbelly pigs or any other pig that needs a special home, please also check petfinder.com or www.adoptapet.com

We also provide free one-on-one education and training for you and your pig pet!  Sometimes a little help and guidance is all a pig owner needs!   Whether you call them potbellies, pot belly pigs, miniature potbelly pigs, they are still one of the most rewarding yet challenging animals you can add to your family!
Remember that dogs cater to humans... Humans cater to pigs!
Take a moment to root around!

Please be an advocate of spaying and neutering, unwanted and abandoned pets are becoming an epidemic!  All pets deserve a chance and if you can give them that second chance, we thank you from the bottom of our snouts!
